BULLYING YOUTH BECOME BULLYING ADULTS

I just read my weekly ezine from someone I admire greatly, Mr. Harvey Mackay.

Harvey Mackay is the author of the New York Times #1 bestsellers Swim With The Sharks Without Being Eaten Alive and Beware the Naked Man Who Offers You His Shirt. Both books are among the top 15 inspirational business books of all time, according to the New York Times. Harvey's books have sold 10 million copies worldwide, been translated into 37 languages and sold in 80 countries.

With over 45 years of experience, serving more than 1,000 customers, from Fortune 500 corporations to small emerging companies, Harvey Mackay knows what he is talking about.

Isn't it interesting that he should be speaking about the same topic that The Love-N-Lightning Boot Camp addresses. I wanted to share it with you so you could see where our youth are headed IF we don't do something to help them because bullying youth become bullying and sometimes murderous adults.

Harvey Mackay's Column This Week

What is anger/violence in the workplace? Do you feel safe at work?
According to the National Crime Victimization Survey and the Bureau of Labor Statistics, nearly 2 million assaults and threats of violence against Americans at work occur annually.

This includes: 325,000 aggravated assault ... 36,500 rapes and sexual assault ... 70,100 robberies, and ... 900 homicides.

In addition to assaults and threats, a substantial number of employees report being bullied or harassed on the job.

Workplace violence costs employers billions of dollars in ... lost work time and wage ... reduced productivity ... medical cost ... workers' compensation payments, and ... egal and security expenses.

Providing training to recognize and address workplace violence should be a regular part of an employer's annual training regimen. An inappropriate language tiff between employees can escalate to something much more serious if left unattended.

Such behavior was reported at my company, MackayMitchell Envelope Company, so several months ago management took time to review our offensive behavior policy with all of our employees. We hired TEAM (Total Employee Assistance Management Inc.) and held several mandatory training classes.
I learned a lot about this issue, and while writing about such a topic is a real departure for me, I think this is especially important.

First off, what constitutes workplace violence?

It includes ... name calling ... yelling ... angry remarks ... obscene phone calls ... vague or specific threats ... thowing things ... destroying property ... shoving ... statking ... hitting ... stabbing ... rape ... suicide and even ... murder.

Violence in the workplace can come from ... patients ... student ... customer ... clients ... supervisor ... managers and ... current or former employees. In addition, violence can come from a spouse ... child ... neighbor or ... anyone who has a personal relationship with an employee.

A number of risk factors increase the likelihood of workplace violence including:

• a mishandled termination or disciplinary action
• a grudge over a real or imaginary grievance
• drug or alcohol abuse
• bringing weapons to work or fascination with weapons
• increasing belligerence
• vague or specific threats
• interest in recently publicized violent events
• frequent outbursts of anger
• and homicidal or suicidal comments or threats.
  

An employer has an obligation to provide a safe work environment.

What can they do to decrease the likelihood of workplace violence occurring?

• Adopt a workplace violence policy and prevention program
• Communicate the policy to all employees and provide training sessions for all new and current employees and members of management
• Adopt consistent and fair disciplinary procedures
• Foster an environment of trust and respect among co-workers and between employees and management
• When necessary, seek assistance from outside resources such as law enforcement, employee assistance and mental health professionals.
• Employees are often the first to notice potential problems with co-workers, and should be encouraged to be active participants in keeping the workplace safe.

What can employees do to help prevent workplace violence?

• Accept and adhere to your company's workplace violence preventative policies and practices
• Become aware of warning signs.
• Report any threatening and violent behaviors to management or human resources.
  

The instructor of our violence in the workplace class shared this story with me about the "worry tree"

"I was in a session with a police officer and asked him how he dealt with all of the tragedy, death and inhuman behavior exhibited between people on the assorted police calls he goes out on.

"He told me that every night when he went home he touched a tree while walking into his house. By touching the tree, he told himself he was dumping all of the tragedy, stress, death, and trauma on the tree. He then went into his home, took off his vest, locked his gun away, and made the conscious choice to stop being a police officer, and to start being a husband and dad.

"The next morning he touched the tree on the way to his car to go to work and assumed all his worries. The amazing thing is there aren't nearly as many as he hung up the night before. He told me by touching the tree, it allowed him to compartmentalize his life and prevent him from burning out."

The officer found a positive way to keep his anger and frustrations from turning into violent behavior. Help yourself and those around you to do the same.

Mackay's Moral: Control yourself: Remember anger is just one letter short of danger.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if all businesses were as conscientious as Mr. Mackay is and if they were also introduced to The Love-N-Lightning Boot Camp Survival Tools and Tactics?

The Police Chief 's office in our city conducted a telephone survey of over 1000 people to determine what topics citizens were interested in having presentations on. One surprising statistic that stunned the survey conductor is that more than 80% of the respondents did NOT believe that bullying was a problem in our schools!

Our city of 180,000 may not have the violence experienced at Virginia Tech or Columbine but it is growing at an alarming rate. Police presentations on bullying are usually attended by a few youth and parents who are pro-active and educating themselves or by parents who have youth in desperate need and have not been able to get the help needed.

A few years ago, I did a presentation on SUICIDE at a local high school. I noticed two teens were very troubled and after the presentation their teacher asked if I could spend some private time with them . I agreed on the condition that the school counsellor sat in with us.

One was considering suicide because he was being bullied all the time and the other's mother had committed suicide.

I spent 20 minutes maximum with each student. As I led them through a technique that required very little speaking on his or her part, the transformation that took place was quite apparent. Tears of joy and relief streamed down their faces and the look of peace and healing experienced made them glow!

I could sense the counsellor feeling confused, wondering what I was doing with them. When I offered to teach her how to do the same she quickly refused saying she didn't have the time, even though I offered to share it with her at her convenience. I could sense her fear, her panic.
I often hear people's thoughts and hers were coming through loud and clear, "What is she doing? What happened here? Don't tell me I studied years to become a counsellor and she tells me I can learn this in a few hours! NO!"

Her fear prevented her from becoming the gifted, amazing, trusted, counsellor she had the potential to be, one needed by so many today.

It is time! Our youth need us. Do not let your fears prevent you from being your full self; from learning some tools that can not only help you but empower you to serve others.

What I am about to share with you is the foundation of all that is ...

of all that I teach ...

of all that I know.

YOU ARE A HOLOGRAM OF GOD

Do you know who you really are? If I said you are a Hologram of God would you agree or even understand? Don't feel bad, I sure didn't when I first found out.

Let me explain.

Many years ago I was in a gift shop and saw some colorful pendants labeled – Holographic Pendants. They were quite expensive and I couldn't figure out why.

Holographic? Holograms? What’s that? I wondered as I held one up to the light. Suddenly a 3 dimensional picture appeared! It looked so real; like I could walk into the picture or that it was coming out at me. This is neat, I thought as I looked at the pendant sideways wondering, How do they do that? They must have zillions of layers to give that 3D effect. This is really neat.

Spirit whispered, “If you think that’s neat, guess what … you are a hologram of God!”

Give me a break! I don’t even know what holograms are and you’re telling me I am a hologram of God. Explain! my mind screamed in frustration.

Five minutes later I was in my favorite bookstore and there was a book begging to be read. I zipped through it quickly and voila - the last chapter was on HOLOGRAMS!

The author said if you want to understand the thinking behind holograms imagine a crystal clear bowl of water.

To simplify his teachings, I will choose a frozen lake instead. Imagine cutting a hole in the ice. Take out that sheet of ice and hold it up to the light. What would you see? If it was a normal piece of frozen ice created by compression or by lowering the temperature, you would see crystallized water … maybe the occasional rainbow.

BUT …

if this sheet of ice was holographically created and you held it up to the light … you would see all the fish in the lake, the weeds, broken bottles, every grain of sand ... EVERYTHING would be seen as though it was floating out of that sheet of ice!

WOW!

Oops, you drop the sheet of ice and it breaks up into thousands of little pieces. There are little chips of ice, every where, all different shapes and sizes.

Pick up one chip, hold it up to the light and what would you see?

Do you think you will see one little fish? Nope. No matter how many times you break up that little chip, each and every piece would show you exactly the same thing …

The Same Whole Picture!

WOW! Isn't that amazing!

Spirit came along again and whispered, “You are a chip off the old block.” Well I laughed and laughed and now knew how I was a Hologram of God. When I was a child, if someone said, ‘You’re a chip off the old block,” it meant, " You’re exactly like your father, exactly like your mother."

There is Father, Mother, God, Spirit, the Light, the I Am, the Source, whatever you wish to call Ithat creative force, the source of all that is, wishing to express Itself, to be, but unable do so in Its fullness, because It is too big. It would be like a million watts going through a 100 watt bulb. The light bulb would explode.

The Creator, LOVE, wishes to be everywhere to express Itself, to be, to experience, so it takes a deep breath and exhales … oooommmmm, and little chips of God are spread out everywhere.

I Am, God, The Light

This one is called Anna-Marie.
This one is, called a rock, Dude, a tree, a Martian, Jesus, Hitler, George, President Bush, Osama Bin Laden, Mother Theresa, the school bully, your favorite hero,

YOU!

Little chips of God are everywhere.

Let us take YOU and hold YOU up to the light and what would you see?

The whole picture of God,
from the beginning until the end of time
is inside YOU ... whether you believe in God or not.

YOU don’t have to read another book to know everything about Einstein; your I AM already knows it all. YOU just have to learn how to access and listen to it.

God Always Was

Hearing God always was, always will be, and always remains the same drove me crazy when I was a kid in Catholic schools. I wasn’t so sure God existed because all I saw was hell everywhere. BUT … what if God, the I AM, did exist and was in everything like I was taught? Everything is always changing so how can God remain the same? No one could ever explain that to me. “It’s a mystery,” they would reply. ”Just have faith.”

I now understood.

Let’s take a detour for a quick, simple physics class. Imagine an atom of energy – a proton, a neutron, and an electron all zipping and zapping everywhere, moving so quickly you cannot see the movement.

I don’t know how they did it but scientists have proven there are millions of atoms in the period at the end of a sentence. MILLIONS in a ‘.’ dot! Now, take one atom away from the rest and split it in half. What would happen?

Think about this … realize the power!

During the Second World War, J. Robert Oppenheimer discovered how to split an atom and created the atom bomb ... the bomb that flattened Hiroshima!

You can’t even see an atom! Look at what it did, the power it has!

That ‘blows me away’ every time I think of it!

And the atom was not split from the outside, (explosion)
it was an inside job – (an implosion).

All Your Power Is Inside You !!

Look at your thumbnail. How many atoms are in your thumbnail?

You can’t count them all but inside every single atom is that potential nuclear power!

“The Kingdom of heaven is within.”

“I AM the way and the truth and the light.” What a bright light it was!

After His death, Jesus increased His vibration and went from solid, liquid, gas, electrical, magnetic, etheric, spiritual energy and disappeared leaving a little trace of nuclear dust on the Shroud of Turin. When He wants to appear, He simply slows down His twinkles of light, like steam becoming ice and voila, you can see Him.

He said, “You can do the same as I and even more.” He did not lie.

Back To God Always Was and Always Will Be and Always Remains the Same

Remembering the I AM is in every cell of your being … in ALL Beings …
Remembering the I AM registers everything … you think, say and do ...

The minute you take a computer course the I AM registers it …
You don't have to pay $5000 for one of the healing courses I took, it's all inside you, you just havent' learned how to access it yet - Love does - the I AM does.

The I AM inside everyone else has also registered your computer course. They don't even know you exist but now there is that knowledge inside them because of what you did. Do you begin to understand how the young learn computers so quickly ... you and I laid the ground work for them.

Now what happens if you commit suicide, or one person takes a weapon into school and kills others? What do you think in now inside all of us?

Everything about Hitler is inside you, the good the bad the ugly is all inside us.

Do you see why suicide, depression, killing is such a big problem on this planet?

Do you see how everything can snowball out of control?

"What so ever you do unto the least of My brethren, you do unto Me." Do you now understand what those words mean ?

All it takes is one to do it and it is now inside everyone else!

The minute you think, "I am a dummy, no good," "He is a _______(Negative word)" the I AM has registered it and if the I AM is in every cell of your being, what have you done to us, to every atom of energy on this planet?

Let us now focus on the positive ... the truth! It's all a matter of choice.

I AM SPIRIT
NOTHING CAN HURT ME
OR MAKE ME SICK OR AFRAID.

WHY?

BECAUSE SPIRIT IS GOD

GOD CANNOT BE SICK, HURT OR AFRAID
I AM HERE TO MANIFEST
MY TRUE SELF
THROUGH THIS BODY
NOW!

THAT IS THE TRUTH!

NOW, what have you done to everyone on the planet including yourself, the bullies, the sick, the weak. You are empowering everyone to remember the truth, we are all spiritual beings having a human experience.

If you came here to demonstrate the power of LOVE through forgiveness, there has to be a bad guy to forgive! How else can you display mastery of your emotions, etc?

You have been given enough food for thought at this time. Ask for the truth and the truth will set you free.

Pedaphiles, kidnappers, rapists, murderers, are no longer out there. They're in our homes. The media has numbed us to brutality, shame, fear, guilt, anger, sex, lust, greed, etc.

In the next 24 hours ... Based on national averages

1,439 Teens will attempt suicide
2,795 Teenage girls will bcome pregnant
15,006 Teens will use drugs for the first time
3,506 Teens will run away

More teens than ever before are in need of help.
Even the best of homes are being affected by this global problem,
and parents are looking for new solutions.

What are we doing to prevent our youth, especially those at risk,
from becoming physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually sick
or to prepare them to be street smart, ready for all that life has to offer - the good the bad and the ugly.

We love them, guide them, counsel them, ground them, send them to

a Fat Farm ... a Drug Rehabilitation Centre ... and when all else has failed, send them to ...

A BOOT CAMP

Stories of very expensive, wonderful, outdoor 'educational' facilities
revealed as nothing more than abusive criminal institutions, are being reported too often.

The "No pain equals no gain" mentality still prevails.

Many boot camps believe 'breaking the spirit' builds a socially acceptable human.

WRONG

Learning to 'play the game' to survive - at all costs - is what happens.

There are boot camps that are very good yet too expensive
for the average family in desperate need of help.

It was to realize that everything happens for a reason and that everyone is equally loved.

That we all have Love inside of us. it is just our decision whether or not to live it.

How to 'Hold the Perfection.'

I liked all the stuff about love and how it makes you stronger.

That I am more than just a human going through life and that I’m stronger with good thoughts!

That love knows everything.

That the feeling of home sickness is because you aren’'t actually “home.”

That being born the way I was, is not my fault or a punishment. My big soul volunteered so I can teach love.

It was nice knowing I can be spiritual and not have to choose a religion and that my Creator loves me just as I am.

That every single one of us have the power to be great and to spread good to everyone by thinking positively and doing God’s will because we are all connected.

Do you realize who special you are now?
All said Yes.

Do you think what Caroline shared is of value and should become a regular part of school programs? If yes, why?

Because there are not many students that realize the things that Caroline has to say. Everyone should know!!

It is so inspiring, educational and interesting.
